PREVIEW: Arsenal v Hull City

You cannot fail to be impressed with the stellar work in a short space of time that new Hull City manager Marco Silva has extracted from his battered and beleaguered squad when taking over the Tiger reins. Indeed, the new life breathed into the players has seen the club move to within a point of safety, this despite playing Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United twice since his arrival, lifting spirits and morale to a level that now sees even the fans believing that the possibility of a 'Great Escape' could well be on.

As ever though, the City boss will not have a fully fit squad to choose from, in keeping with all his previous matches since arriving here at the turn of the year. Abel Hernandez has a hamstring injury, while captain Michael Dawson - injured in the warm up with a calf strain before the fabulous Liverpool victory last weekend - will again be sidelined. Ahmed Elmohamady and Dieumerci Mbokani will both be added to the squad now they've returned from African Cup of Nations action and could feature. Lazar Markovic is eligible once more.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger remains banned from the touchline since his most recent skirmish with fourth official Anthony Taylor. The Gunners welcome back Mohamed Elneny from the Africa Cup of Nations, but doubts remain for Hector Bellerin after he picked up a head injury in last weekend’s defeat to Chelsea. Aaron Ramsey remains out with a calf injury, while Santi Cazorla remains a long term injury absentee.
