SUMMARY: Manchester City 3-1 Hull City

Not a day the Tigers were hugely relying on to get points in their quest for Premier League survival - particularly as this is arguably the most difficult fixture left in their campaign - and so it came to pass, as Manchester City predictably claimed all the points in this clash.

An early double save from Sane by Jakupovic set the tone, but the next real chance was nearly half an hour later when a freekick from Toure was beaten over. Moments after, Elmohamady suffered misfortune to turn into his own net to give the hosts the lead. Yet, seconds later Niasse couldn't convert a Grosicky cross from close range as the Tigers rallied. Grosicky fired wide one final chance of the half, but the visitors were not out of this match by any stretch, looking dangerous on the counter.

Positive intent from the Tigers was quickly vanquished when Aguerro squeezed home 48 minutes with the aid of another defending touch. Fearless, the visitors boldly went two up top, but Delph smashed in a third on 63 minutes to put the game out of reach. But the Tigers refused to lay down and Ranocchia netted from a corner with five minutes remaining to provide some consolation. But results elsewhere meant that Marco Silva's side preserved their two point cushion from the drop zone.
