PREVIEW: Hull City v Burton Albion

So for the first time ever, Hull City will play Burton Albion - the non-league, fast risers, surprising everyone with a second season in the Championship. In another first, a Russian will be in the dugout managing the home side, as Leonid Slutsky will be introduced to the home fans for his inaugural bow since arriving from CSKA Moscow.

The affable Russian will be hoping to introduce new signing from this week - Seb Larsson - into the action, but this is likely to be from the bench. Marquee signing Kevin Stewart will be hoping to recover from his ankle injury that sidelined him from the valiant draw away at Aston Villa on the opening day, while the team looks to settle itself into life in the Championship once more.

Burton Albion arrive in East Yorkshire with manager Nigel Clough not necessarily enjoying his games against Hull City, after recording just one win in seven attempts with some of his previous clubs he's managed. Lloyd Dyer is out with a thigh injury, while Luke Varney is pushing for a start after scoring in the EFL Cup win over Oldham Athletic in midweek. Stephen Bywater, Jake Buxton, Stephen Warnock, Marvin Sordell, Jackson Irvine and Luke Murphy are all expected to be recalled after sitting out the EFL Cup tie.
