SUMMARY: Hull City 6-1 Birmingham City

The Tigers finally found their bite and tore a terrible Birmingham City to shreds with an eye-catching display that saw six different players all finding the back of the net for the hosts, to give Leonid Slutsky, the players, the fans and Hull City themselves, the perfect pick-me-up ahead of the impending international break.

Slutsky certainly had his players motivated for the fixture with Cambell seizing on a defensive mistake to roll in on 7 minutes, before being tripped in the box just three minutes later, affording Meyler the chance to net from the spot. Fifteen minutes further on, Jarrod Bowen ran at a wretched Birmingham back line, to ram home a third for the Tigers from distance, in what was proving to be a dominant opening quarter. Frankly, it could've been more, but the hosts settled for three at the interval without reply.

With the foot firmly on the throat, the Tigers didn't back off, continuing to place the visitors in further turmoil when Grosicki finished a breakaway goal on 72 minutes. Four minutes later Henrikson fired in from close range, before the rout was completed by the hosts with a Larsson goal three minutes from time against his former club. The mood in the away end was ugly to say the least, embarrassing in fact, but the hosts continued their annoying habit of conceding late when Birmingham scored a deflected goal in injury time. Not that it put a downer on a memorable day, like.

And to think; Hull City Action For Change launched today and appear to have achieved the first of their 6 key objectives, namely 'A fresh start and return of the feel good factor at Hull City'. Good work!
