PREVIEW: Preston North End v Hull City

Hull City's spluttering form will be under severe scrutiny at Preston North End this weekend. The hosts are just one win away from joining the play-off fray, while the Tigers are flirting with an imminent departure to League One - mere months after dining out in the Premier League.

Points at Preston?

It is fair to state Nigel Adkins has struggled to arrest Hull City's alarming league form since his arrival. However, there have been a few green shoots of recovery emerging. Although, the Tigers battered Leeds in midweek, kept a clean sheet - and really should've won the match - they didn't. Largely, summarising precisely Hull City's league campaign in a nutshell. Markus Henriksen and Ondrej Mazuch limped out of that game, meaning deadline day signings Angus McDonald and Harry Wilson could be thrust straight into action.

Preston North End meanwhile, look a well drilled side under Alex Neill. The hosts enjoyed a 0-3 thrashing of Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in midweek that took the Deepdale outfit to 9th in the table and just one win from the play-offs. It is likely, the home side will keep a winning team, again minus Ben Davies and Greg Cunningham, who remain unavailable.
