PREVIEW: Hull City v Queens Park Rangers

The unexpected, but nevertheless excellent point picked up at Championship leaders Wolves in midweek, has provided a seven point buffer over the bottom three for the Tigers - as the club continue to strive keep their second tier status for another season.

A win to make us safe?

Boss Nigel Adkins will be selecting a team brimming with confidence and ready to tackle a largely inconsistent Queens Park Rangers side - not that the Tigers are the benchmark for such things, obviously. The option to keep the side that held the league leaders on their home turf to a 2-2 draw is tempting, but unlikely to occur, given Abel Hernandez, Harry Wilson, Seb Larsson, Jackson Irvine and Jarrod Bowen were all rested for the clash and chomping at the bit for a recall.

Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway does not have that same luxury, revealing a number of his players are suffering with illness, meaning changes are likely from the team that thumped Norwich City in midweek. Striker Matt Smith will hope to start once more after netting in Tuesday's home win, but for the record, the Hoops have not won in Hull since the 1969-70 season. And that record would go a long way to helping us stay in the division.
