SUMAMRY: Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Hull City

Nigel Adkins guided his team to their first point of the season away at Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday with an accomplished performance from the visitors - but the Tigers will be left wondering what might've been, as a controversial decision denied Hull City all three points.

City started on the front foot and could've had two goals in the first 10 minutes of the match as Bowen blazed over, before then hitting a post, with Evandro denied following in the rebound. The hosts attempted to come back into the match - Fletcher seeing his one-on-one thwarted by Marshall in goal - but the Tigers were up for the fight and duly took a deserved first half lead when Campbell opened the scoring from close range in the 36th minute.

The Owls improved after the interval and were gifted an easy route back into the match when Burke was adjudged to have deliberately felled Forestieri in the box - and the latter picked himself up to convert his 51st minute spot kick. Fletcher missed some good chances for Wednesday upon his first start since December, while the Tigers came close when Irvine spurned a great chance to retake the lead. Henriksen's fierce drive from 30 yards out needed keeping out, but the match remained at 1-1 to give both teams their first points.
