PREVIEW: Sheffield United v Hull City - LC rd 1

Something to set the pulse racing... a trip to Sheffield United would often induce such, but given that Hull City have had the life sucked out of their support, it really is difficult to justify the same sentiments anymore, regardless of the fact this is the First Round of the Carabao Cup. Some legacy, eh Allam?

Carabao Cup - Round 1

Nigel Adkins visits his former club to settle an old score or two, but won't play anything like what would be considered a full strength side for his return to Bramall Lane. George Long is likely to be chief beneficiary in goal, as likewise, the summer signing for City makes a return to his old club. Jackson Irvine, Angus MacDonald, Jon Toral, Kevin Stewart and Will Keane are also among those hoping to start.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is likely to follow suit and play a weakened team. City target Oliver Norwood will perhaps get a chance to debut for the Blades after agreeing a loan to permanent deal this Monday. Ben Woodburn on loan from Liverpool is another likely contender, but summer signing David McGoldrick will miss out due to injury.
