PREVIEW: Hull City v Blackburn Rovers

So after thrashing Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on penalties, the Tigers were rewarded with a home tie against Frank Lampard's Derby County in the 2nd Round of the League Cup. But all that nonsense can be set aside this Saturday, as a Roses clash between Hull City and Blackburn Rovers takes centre stage at the Circle.

Nigel Adkins will make several changes from the youngsters that performed so valiantly in the red half of Sheffield. After their World Cup endeavours, Jackson Irvine and Kamil Grosicki will be pushing for selection. In addition, the City boss will boosted defensively by the return of Reece Burke and Angus MacDonald, who should both be available for recalls after minor knocks.

Visiting manager Tony Mowbray finds Hull a tough hunting ground for victories, losing twice while in charge of Middlesbrough. Add to that City triumphing against Blackburn on the last two occasions the teams have met - plus Rovers winning just one of their last seven visits here - the hosts have a good past record to call upon. Ex-Tiger Danny Graham is likely to be recalled into the line-up after being rested in midweek for the cup, while Elliott Bennett and Derrick Williams will be hoping for a place in the starting XI.
