PREVIEW: Hull City v Derby County

As dismal as Tuesday evening's cup encounter with Derby County was, Hull City have no time to dwell on that disaster, as the same opponents rock up to the same venue this Saturday, but this time it's for league points. Much needs to change, whether it will, remains to be seen.

...and this won't be far off the attendance either

Apprehension will undoubtedly reign supreme at the Circle, especially given the major influx of players that Nigel Adkins was demanding from our pitiful owners, failed to materialise on loan transfer window deadline day. Two did arrive - defender Tommy Elphick from Aston Villa and striker Chris Martin from Derby County - but nowhere near the number actually needed to arrest our squad deficiencies. The latter cannot play against his parent club, but Elphick looks a sure fire bet to start given City's frailties at the back.

Despite making a mere 8 changes to his side for the Carabao Cup tie, the Rams didn't break stride - or even sweat - to breeze past Hull City 0-4 on Tuesday evening. With manager Frank Lampard ready to unleash a fully rested and much stronger side for the League encounter this Saturday, the Tigers need to brace themselves for what is looking like a tough afternoon ahead in the Championship, especially given the fact that Hull City have so far, lost every single home game this season in every competition.
