SUMMARY: Hull City 1-2 Derby County

You couldn't fault the players for their work ethic this Saturday against Derby, after the shambles four days earlier in the cup against the same team, but it still wasn't enough to win this game - and in truth, Derby waltzed away with all the points with a performance that suggested, indeed, they had 'got away with one'.

Same team. Same result.

City matched Derby for their attacking intent, but neither side were troubling either keeper. Yet, in the 22nd minute, Nugent 'won' a penalty that looked suspiciously dubious - Marshall was soon picking out Waghorn's spot kick. City rallied, Campbell whistled one past the post, before Henriksen blazed wildly over the bar when well placed, just before the half time interval.

The Tigers were much improved in the second period and began to genuinely scrutinise the Rams. The goal of the game arrived after a sharp move saw Kane restore parity fot the host when sweeping in a 53rd minute goal into the far corner. City pressed and looked the much more likely to find the winner as Evandro, Dicko and de Wijs all missed good chances to score. But with two minutes remaining, a deflected cross squirmed into Jozefzoon's path and the Tigers received a slap in the face they barely deserved.
