PREVIEW: Hull City v Brentford

Once again, fair play to Nigel Adkins. From leading at Millwall, to finding themselves behind, the City boss made tactical changes from the bench that brought about an equaliser at the New Den - and duly provided a precious point to inch the Tigers further away from the bottom three in the Championship.

Moving on up...?

Just one defeat in their past six matches has ensured Hull City are moving in the right direction, but the Tigers are set to be severely tested this Saturday, as an injury crisis in defence hovers over the Brentford game. Eric Lichaj and Reece Burke are almost certainly ruled out, while Jordy de-Wijs will require a late fitness test before being considered for the match.

The visitors have slumped alarmingly down the Championship table since ex-boss Dean Smith left for Aston Villa. New manager Thomas Franks has offered a 'dead cat bounce' as the Bees have laboured to just four points from a possible 27 under his management. Emiliano Marcondes and Lewis Macleod are injured for the game, but Julian Jeanvier and Kamohelo Mokotjo could return to the squad after spells out.

For the record, Brentford's form in Hull is abysmal. The Bees have lost their last seven straight games here in East Yorkshire.
