SUMMARY: Hull City 2-0 Brentford

There will be few games like this at the Circle this season, but for all Brentford's dominance in possession throughout this match, the visitors did jack with it. The Tigers on the other hand, demonstrated excellence in finishing during the first half, a problem the Bees failed to solve throughout the entire 90 minutes with just a solitary shot on target.

Hull City are the Bees knees!

The game began with Brentford missing two glorious chances inside the opening five minutes. Yet, the Bees rarely threatened again for the remainder of the match, despite having oodles of possession. Instead, it was City who showed the route to goal, when Campbell seized on a woeful defensive error to prod home from close range on 12 minutes. Within nine minutes, Grosicki's fierce shot was parried straight into Campbell's path - and the striker guided home his and Hull City's second goal to claim a 2-0 half time advantage.

Come the second period, the Tigers turned in a professional performance to nullify the game. Content to cash in on their winning cushion, Brentford laboured to carve out any decent chances to trouble Marshall in the home goal. Chances were few and far between in the second half - for both sides - and the hosts claimed an eighth successive victory over Brentford that saw Hull City move over and above the Bees in the table into 17th place, five points clear of the dotted line.
