SUMMARY: Hull City 3-2 Swansea City

Hull City endured a differing performance in two halves of football against Swansea City, that started badly and ended nervously, but was ultimately won by ten devastating second half minutes in the match that provided the Tigers with three early Christmas points to pull further clear of the relegation race.

Bowen on the double!

The match couldn't have started worse for the hosts as Bony put the Swans in front when firing in off the post 3 minutes in. The Tigers were lamentable in the first period as the visitors dominated much of the half. Yet, the home team should've levelled when Grosicki's mazy run was stopped at the near post - and the foul on Fraizer Campbell that provided a penalty, saw Bowen's spot kick saved. Hull City were both lucky and unlucky to only be losing 0-1 at the break.

Matters took a turn for the better in the second half with an improved performance testing Swansea. Another gallop from Grosicki saw his cross dealt with poorly - and Bowen pounced for an easy tap in on 70 minutes. Six minutes later the Tigers seized control with Elphick's looping header providing a 2-1 lead for the hosts. Bowen then emphatically smashed in again just four minutes after, as Hull City wrenched the game away from the Swans. A late consolation two minutes from time by Celina could not halt a home win.
