SUMMARY: Millwall 2-1 Hull City - FA Cup Rd 3

Hull City elected to make a whole host of changes for their FA Cup trip to Millwall, that offered a rare first team start for David Milinkovic coupled with youngsters Robbie McKenzie and Dan Batty. The Lions by contrast, went with a stronger side, yet needed a triple substitution to sway the tie late in the second half.

Up... and out.

The match began very much as a slow burner, with both keepers standing on ceremony. But as the match progressed, City found a couple of cut-backs that almost produced goals, while Millwall followed suit with similar chances of their own. An almighty goal mouth scramble saw the Tigers survive what looked like being an opening goal for the Lions - and latterly forced their own panic in the Millwall box - but neither side could break the deadlock as the teams trooped off at the interval.

Matters changed early in the second period when neat combination work from Dicko and Toral saw the latter delightfully guide home his shot from close range on 52 minutes to give Hull City the lead. Millwall pushed and crashed the under side of the bar on 78 minutes in search of an equaliser. Minutes later Ferguson curled an effort in from a short corner to level for the Lions. And three minutes later, curled in a freekick in the opposite corner to turn the tie around.
