SUMMARY: Hull City 3-0 Sheffield Wednesday

Rarely will Hull City record a more easy victory than this one gained over Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday. The Tigers dominated proceedings from the off, as a beleaguered looking Owls side offered little fight, before meekly handing over the three points to the home team.

So easy. So, so, easy...

Hull City got out of the traps quickly to quell any of the visitors resistance. The Tigers ran the first half, with Grosicki having the best of the chances for the hosts as the pressure ramped up. Wednesday laboured - and couldn't muster a single effort on target to trouble Marshall. However, the home team became frustrated the pressure couldn't provide a goal - until first half stoppage time. Grosicki fed Bowen, and the Championship Player of the Month fired in low from outside the box, to clinch a deserved 1-0 interval lead.

Buoyed by the goal just before the break, City pressed on and Westwood fouled Martin in the box resulting in a 52nd minute penalty - that Bowen smashed in, to double his tally and the Tigers' lead. The hosts dominated matters, with the Owls totally toothless when (rarely) coming forward whenever they got in City's half of the pitch. To rub salt in the Wednesday wounds, Campbell came off the bench to score his traditional goal against the Owls on 76 - capitalising on ex-Tiger Hector's mistake to wrap up the points. It was so easy.
