SUMMARY: Aston Villa 2-2 Hull City

Hull City continued their impressive form away at Villa Park, but couldn't make it seven wins from seven matches, as a spirited second half performance from the hosts prevented the Tigers from taking all the spoils on a chilly afternoon in the West Midlands.

An open game was end to end from the off, but City looked far more threatening in the final third pitch. Grosicki saw a deflected effort scooped off the line, Burke and de-Wijs went close with headers from corners, but the deadlock was broken when Bowen raced in on goal slammed a near post effort in under the keeper on 27 minutes. The Tigers continued on the front foot and ten minutes later a superb move saw Grosicki cut back for Evandro to scissor kick a second in for City. Yet, ex-Tiger Chester headed in right on half time.

The second half was a much more even affair and City were punished by the hosts on 64 minutes when Abraham grabbed an equaliser at the second attempt. In fairness, Villa improved greatly after the break, but couldn't fashion a cutting edge to trouble the Tigers. Martin had a glorious chance in the final minute to win it for Hull City, but the deadlock couldn't be broken and the points were shared between the teams.
