SUMMARY: Hull City 2-1 Millwall

You have to hand it to Nigel Adkins. After the humiliation suffered down in London just three days earlier, the Tigers produced a resolute performance this Tuesday evening, to find that winning touch once more and defeat Millwall in the re-arranged fixture with the Lions.

Tigers beat the Lions

Hull City got off to a flyer to make amends for their misdemeanours down in London at the weekend, as Bowen round off a move with a simple finish on 8 minutes. But, this City side aren't doing things easy and soon, were cursing themselves, as Morison's cross was bundled in from close range by Hutchinson on 24 minutes to level matters for Millwall. The response was good from the Tigers and three minutes before the break - on his full debut - Pugh netted for the hosts to provide a 2-1 half time advantage.

The Tigers were not out of the woods, as Millwall pushed to get back on terms. Thankful to Marshall for an amazing point blank save, City maintained their slender advantage. Marshall was a key man for the hosts, again thwarting the Lions, before Grosicki thundered a shot against the woodwork from distance. Yet, the damage done in the first half proved enough for the Tigers to beat the Lions and restore some pride, just three days after Saturday's shambles.
