BREAKING: Adkins released - new manager incoming

It's a good job we've got the best run club in the Football League to support, otherwise life as a Hull City fan would be miserable given Nigel Adkins will not be staying on. In one of the least surprising pieces of news to seep from the club during the close season, it now means Hull City are looking for a new manager. Again.

Thanks Nigel, you deserve so much better than this.

Sadly, just when you think the Allams couldn't possibly do anything else more stupid than the countless incidents before, our beloved owners strike yet again. Close season has been thrust into turmoil, because Nigel Adkins will not be staying on at the club, citing differences between his own ambitions and that of the Allams themselves.

Of course, Hull City fans will hardly be surprised, given past form with the Allams. A thinly veiled democracy reigning at the club, fails to hide away the dictatorship of Allam rule at Hull City. It's such a turn off - and Hull City fans simply won't tolerate it, as the vast swathes of empty seats in the Circle proves testimony to.

In a recent statement, Adkins cited the following as his reasons for not agreeing a new contract with the club - "It is with a heavy heart and after much careful consideration that I have decided our futures are not aligned and that I will be leaving the club when my current contract expires on June 30."

Before acknowledging what's left of the fan base with - "The unity the supporters have shown with all the staff and players has also been very special. The fantastic relationship I have had with the fans makes leaving extremely difficult. I will take with me very special memories of the past 18 months."

So, with Adkins (unsurprisingly) not sticking around to dance to the tune of the Allams - who continue to trim every last morsel from the club in an effort to sell The Tigers for a wanted £50m (ha!) - the search for a replacement has already thrown next season's preparations into turmoil. As if we didn't already know. Business genius', right?

The club confirmed such on their official website stating - "The Club would like to place on record its thanks for all of the hard work and dedication Nigel and Andy have shown since joining in December 2017. The search for Nigel’s successor is already underway."

CI would like to thank Nigel, his staff and the players for their efforts over the past 18 months and are not in the least bit surprised it has come to this. We wish you the very best for the future, wherever that may be.
