City in for Premier League keeper?

Hull City manager Nigel Pearson could be about to exercise his growing contacts at Premier League side Liverpool and take on one of their promising goalkeeping acquisitions to fill the vacant Hull City berth, according to one story that has appeared in the national press overnight.

Reds star to City?

Yesterday, the Tigers announced they would be hosting the five times European Cup winners in a friendly at the KC Stadium on Saturday July 23rd, replacing the pencilled in away trip to Conference side Grimsby Town amid rumours the match with the Reds was in some way linked to an ongoing transfer between Hull City and Liverpool.

Reports had suggested that Hull City's promising England schoolboy international Max Clark - a student at the city's Malet Lambert School - was mooted to be engaged in a switch to Liverpool and the deal was a catalyst for a friendly being arranged between the two sides.

However, here at City Independent, we believe that manager Nigel Pearson is reportedly keen on taking Liverpool's promising young goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on loan. Gulacsi is highly rated by the Reds and the 21 year old apparently fits the bill between the sticks to solve Pearson's goalkeeping shortfall in the squad, although no formal word has come from either club just yet.
